Hope all is well in your world! I’ve got lots of exciting news to report to hang on! June & July have been filled with many of my birthday wishes coming true & more!
I’ve been doing lots of auditioning over the last few months & I find the more I do it, the easier it becomes! Early June I auditioned for the “LA Connection Comedy Theater” in Sherman Oaks, and got accepted into level 2! I’m happy to report since the, I’ve moved up to level 3! I’m looking forward to doing my first IMPROV show with my group! Everyone is super nice & super talented! Pure joy working with such inspiration!
I was in an episode of “I’m In The Band” called “Lord Of The Weasels” which aired on June 20th. I had a lot of fun playing a Larper/Warrior!
This month I auditioned for The Pink Floyd Project “Dark Side Of The Moon” & got the part! I’ve been rehearsing with the cast all week & we go up a week from Sunday for 8 weeks on Sunday nights at The Next Stage Theater 1523 N La Brea Between Sunset & Hollywood (Upstairs from The Woods) You can purchase tickets at the box office & let them know you’re there to see me (^.^)
San Diego Comic Con:
This year due to my hectic schedule, I was only able to participate in Comic Con’s events for one day only, Saturday July 23rd… I was so happy to be a part of it! Saturday was certainly was a MAGICAL day! Our day started out doing a live painting demo at “HK Holbein USA” paints booth. I demoed their “Aeroflash” liquid acrylic color on one of my “Symbiote” Vinyl figures. I tried out some of their brushes, which I’ve never used before & absolutely fell in love! Their brushes are INCREDIBLE & the good news is, they’re reasonably priced! I had a lot of fun using their silky, smooth, vibrant colors to create my “Zombie Girl”! Painting live was really cool! My fans that were there were able to get a behind the scenes look at part of my creative process! After our painting demo, my man artist Randy Martinez & I made the rounds trying to see as much as we could. We visited our friends Dov & Sarah Jo at DKE Toys booth & to my delight Dov informed me that the Stan Lee vinyl doll I created is featured in Morgan Spurlocks’ book “Comic-Con Episode IV: A Fan’s Hope” on page 89 with Stan Lee! I went by DK Publishing booth to see if they had any copies of the book left, they were sold out! The staff asked me if I could sign their copies, I was so excited to see it, take photos with it & was happy to sign their copies! Later that evening Randy & I headed to our event at the“Chuck Jones Art” gallery. The gallery featured Randy’s art, hosted a book signing for our book “Sketch Card Mania” & they also SOLD my “Captain America” custom vinyl doll before our event! The turnout for our event was BEYOND INCREDIBLE, we did really well & sold a LOT of art & books!
May 2010 Music Connection Magazine mentioned how my Conan O’brien Vinyl doll was being featured in “COCO MOCA” The Museum Of Conan Art! I created another doll for the museum based on a cartoon created for Conan called “The Flaming C” . I submitted my Flaming C doll before Comic Con & received the coolest email from Team Coco the other day telling me how much they love my work & that my Flaming C vinyl doll is now featured in The Museum of Conan Art! SWEET! I now have TWO of my Custom Conan Vinyl dolls in “COCO MOCA”
LA Gallery show:
On August 20th I will be participating in an incredible event with my man Randy Martinez at “Hold Up Art Gallery”. For this show, I’m bringing to life my latest concept “Star Wars meets Dia De Los Muertos” utilizing custom vinyl figures & a Darth Vader mask. I LOVE thinking outside the box when creating art & I always enjoy crossing genres and bringing them together! I created art that represents my love for latin culture & my love for Star Wars! Hope to see you there
