Artist Denise Vasquez shared some of her techniques for painting on a blank vinyl toy using Holbein’s Liquid Acrylic Color, and Artist Randy Martinez demonstrated some of his techniques using Holbein’s Acryla Gouache. They both use Holbein’s paint brushes & LOVE them!

GLOW IN THE DARK Darth Maul Dia De Los Muertos Vinyl Figure concept, design & creation by Denise Vasquez
Today I started on my Star Wars Darth Maul Dia De Los Muertos Vinyl figure for our gallery show next month at “Hold Up Art” http://www.holdupart.com The show opens on August 20th. I spotted this DIY “Think Up” skull bust during “Comicpalooza” in Texas at the “Bean Pot Toiz” http://www.beanpottoiz.com booth. When I saw it, all I could think of was creating “Darth Maul” as a Dia De Los Muertos using this vinyl! I had to have it & the great folks at “Bean Pot Toiz” totally hooked me up!
Just finished painting it…I’m going to apply one more coat of black paint & then my next step will be to apply the skulls! Be sure to follow me here on Tumblr to keep up with my art progress!
